   Summer Arrivals - Where to go and what to do

   1) Physics Graduate Office - 107 E. Bridge

• Check in with Physics Graduate Office
• Bring completed payroll information form

• I-9 form must be completed, copy of US Social Security card provided
• International Students must also report to the Office of International Student Programs - 250 Center for Student Services (#87)

• ID card will be issued upon arrival or after Commencement for early summer registration
• Pre-registration and patent agreement must be completed, copy of US Social Security card provided
• On the first day of your summer appointment, register for 36 units of Ph 172
• Registration card must be signed by faculty supervisor and returned to Registrar

• Report to your faculty supervisor for work assignment, group secretary will issue desk assignment, keys & mail box

   1) Physics Grad Office - 107 E. Bridge

• Check in with Physics Graduate Office, bring completed payroll information form
• Email accounts obtained from Information Management Systems & Services-IMSS, 312 CSS (#87)
• All GTAs must meet with Prof. Frank Porter, Rm 348 Lauritsen, concerning TA assignments, and then meet with the assigned course instructor before classes begin
• GRAs must seek out a faculty research supervisor about a GRA position, report this information to the PGO before October 1st
• Graduate students are paid on the 1st of each month for that month, the first academic year payday is October 1, the last June 1, the summer pay period is July, August & September, copy of US Social Security card required before first payday
• Automatic payroll deposit is available through the Payroll Department, Human Resources Building (#84)
• GTAs and fellowship recipients will be assigned a mailbox in Bridge Annex at mail code 103-33, GRAs may be assigned a mailbox in another area, be sure to notify the PGO of your office location, extension and mail code

• Once new graduate students obtain their ID card from the Bookstore Card Office, they are eligible for an email account and may apply for automatic payroll deposit
• Your course schedule card should be completed pending the results of placement exams and returned to the Registrar no later than the end of the second week of instruction to complete enrollment, subsequent adds/drops are through Registrar's Office
