The Infrared Processing and Analysis Center is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research position in the area of observational stellar astronomy. The successful applicant will work in the Binary Star Research Group on projects including observations of cataclysmic variables, X-ray binaries, and non-interacting binary stars, primarily using data from the Spitzer Space Telescope.

This position is awarded initially for a one-year period, and may be renewed in one-year increments depending on satisfactory performance and on the availability of funding. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Physics, and a strong background in observational astronomy of binary stars, as well as familiarity with observation, data reduction, and analysis techniques for data sets spanning the infrared to X-ray wavelength regimes. Applicants should also have a proven ability to initiate and conduct independent research.
