| Is there financial assistance available for my visit? |
| The Physics Department has limited funds available to modestly assist prospective graduate students with airfare travel expenses during the Information Day Program. Since many students visit several schools on the West Coast at the same time, it is suggested that you combine expenses so they may be shared among these schools. We have routinely shared expenses with UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkeley and Stanford. A typical amount of shared expenses might be $100-200 per school, however, if you are only visiting Caltech we may be able to offer slightly more. The maximum we can reimburse is $300. For International travelers only visiting Caltech, up to $500. We are unable to reimburse for taxi or car rental fees, gas, food or other incidentals. To process reimbursement we will need to photocopy either your airline ticket or itinerary showing the dollar amount. A forwarded E-ticket is also acceptable. To share travel expenses with other schools, please provide identical and complete travel related receipts to each school upon completion of your trip. We will also need your social security number. Non-US students wishing to visit Caltech from outside the US must have current visa and/or passport information available to photocopy. |
