Abstract:
Very often, the most powerful events in the universe and the weakest effects on Earth are tightly linked through high-precision experiments. In this way, gravitational-wave detectors are changing the course of physics even before having reached the sensitivity to complete this link by a successful observation of a cosmic event. This talk is about the status quo and quo vadis of gravitational-wave science, especially for our summer students and other young minds.
