Number Theory Seminar

The speaker will start with a leisurely introduction to mod p representations of a p-adic Lie group G, and the derived category D(G). Bousfield localization applies in this context and gives rise to a support theory. This in turn calls for an understanding of the center of D(G), and the speaker will hint at partial results in this direction.
