This free event will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 7:30 PM in Beckman Auditorium on the Caltech campus, and will weave scientific insight and live performance into a shared exploration of the climate crisis.

Researchers at Caltech's Linde Center for Global Environmental Science will explain the drivers and projected consequences of climate change and highlight evidence-based actions—individual, community, and policy level—that can mitigate its most severe impacts, while the Colburn Baroque Ensemble offers a musical response to these discussions to help attendees reflect on the complex emotions raised by this global challenge. The concert will features music composed by seismologist, baroque musician, composer, and public scientist Dr. Lucy Jones, In Nomine Terra Calens (In the Name of a Warming Earth), in which she has musically represented the rising temperature of the planet from 1880 to 2017.

The evening will provide an accessible yet intellectually rich space for attendees to deepen their understanding of climate science, process their responses, and consider meaningful pathways for engagement. Sponsors are CaltechLive!, the Linde Center for Global Environmental Science, the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society, and the Caltech Sustainability Program.

Admission is free but reservations are recommended.
