Generalized descriptive set theory at singular cardinals of countable cofinality

We explore to what extent classical descriptive set theory can be extended to nonseparable complete metric spaces. We concentrate on spaces whose weight is a singular cardinal of countable cofinality, and we show that, somewhat surprisingly, one can obtain a very rich theory. We also briefly discuss significant connections of such theory with very large cardinals, like Woodin's I0. This is joint work with Vincenzo Dimonte.
