Planets in binary star systems
Thomas Baycroft, Siyuan fellow, Tsung-Dao Lee institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University,

Most known exoplanets are in systems with a single star, a small proportion have distant companion stars and a vanishingly small fraction orbit a close binary star system. However, most stars are in binary systems or higher-order multiples, are planets intrinsically rarer here and what can we learn by studying such planetary systems? I will present some motivation for studying planets in binary systems, with a focus on the P-type (circumbinary) case, showcase recent observational results, and where future observations are likely to push.
