Bjoern Bringmann

Bjoern Bringmann is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Caltech. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University and a Member of the Institute for Advanced Study. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, under the supervision of Professor Terence Tao. His research interests lie at the intersection of partial differential equations and probability theory. More specifically, he works on nonlinear dispersive equations with random initial data and singular parabolic SPDEs. In recent years, he has been particularly interested in the effects of randomness on geometric evolution equations, such as wave maps and the Yang–Mills equations.
