Overview
Rochus E. Vogt is Professor Emeritus of Physics and R. Stanton Avery Distinguished Service Professor at California Institute of Technology. Since 1962, he has served as chair of the faculty, vice president, provost and other positions at Caltech.
He played key leadership roles in major Caltech facilities, including involvement with NASA JPL (Voyager interstellar messengers), LIGO, W. M. Keck Observatory, and millimeter-wave astronomy at the Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO), contributing to the development of large-scale experimental programs.
